official selection of the 12th annual American Black Film Festival, Narrative Feature Competition and as a result is nominated to compete for the Grand Jury Prize for Best Film, Best Actor, the Heineken Red Star Award for Innovation in Film and the Target Filmmaker Award for Most Inspirational Film.
Ursula plays the controversial role of Dareen in the award-winning film, Rabia. The film is about a woman who must blow herself up in order to exist. From the moment she straps explosives to her bare body, we are exposed to flashbacks of Rabia’s past, filled with abuse, rejection, and struggle. With detonator in hand, we find ourselves asking whether Rabia’s act is one of evil or one of heroism?
